Poetry of the Deed.

This didn’t appear on the other blog, and I haven’t gotten round to re-uploading those other bits, but it will happen - only I was listening to Frank Turner’s new album today and thought I’d write a bit about that first.

Poetry of the Deed has all the trademarks of a Frank Turner album which we know (and love); lyrical manifestos and witty observations with a new twist. The songs are much more immersed in a pop-punk sound than any of his work prior to this - it is a much more mainstream sound and I think it paid off for him, with the album reaching no.14 (and perhaps even higher) in the UK album charts. And so I think this album will be the first of (hopefully many) Frank Turner’s real commercial successes.

This was intentionally short, I find it very easy to waffle at great length and so I am trying to see how short I can make reviews/observations.

Starting (again).

These first few entries have just been picked up and moved from my original blog, in a vague attempt to make this all a bit more coherent and hopefully less random.
